Tragic Moment
Tragedy strikes
and you think
if I can just make it through
this moment
this fire
this hell
when the world stopped turning
not to rejoice
but to grieve
and to mourn
to scream
you freeze
seeing all possible outcomes
what would happen if you
run , hide, escape
into a bottle
or
a dream
wish that you were
somewhere
or someone else
anyone
you think of something that happened long ago
your childhood tree house
or the bowling party
where you had your first kiss
anything before this moment
you see tomorrow
when the dust settles and the ashes clear
the voices left on the wind are silent
everything
buzzes like white noise
then fades to nothing
but this moment
clear in it's tragedy
and you think
if I can just make it through
this moment
this fire
this hell
when the world stopped turning
not to rejoice
but to grieve
and to mourn
to scream
you freeze
seeing all possible outcomes
what would happen if you
run , hide, escape
into a bottle
or
a dream
wish that you were
somewhere
or someone else
anyone
you think of something that happened long ago
your childhood tree house
or the bowling party
where you had your first kiss
anything before this moment
you see tomorrow
when the dust settles and the ashes clear
the voices left on the wind are silent
everything
buzzes like white noise
then fades to nothing
but this moment
clear in it's tragedy
